Eagle field hockey bested by Essex

BRISTOL — Visiting Essex scored two late goals on Tuesday to earn a 3-1 victory over the Mount Abraham Union High School field hockey team. The Division II Eagles will carry an 0-2 record into a Friday home game vs. U-32, the only D-II team on their regular season schedule.
On Tuesday, Essex took a 1-0 lead in the first minute, but Eagle Jalen Cook scored to equalize.
The Hornets’ Kylie Svarczkopf tallied twice in the game’s final 10:30 to nail down her team’s win.  
Mount Abe goalie Chessley Jackman made eight saves, and Cassidy Reid stopped three shots for the 3-0 Hornets.
