High school soccer teams fail to post victories

ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school soccer action earlier this week, the Otter Valley girls and boys and the Mount Abraham boys all came up short.
OTTER GIRLS
On Tuesday, visiting Long Trail (4-4) scored twice in the first half and came away with a 2-0 win over the OV girls. Coach Rick Hedding said Jillian Flanders led a better defensive effort for the 4-6 Otters in the second half.
OTTER BOYS
On Monday, visiting Woodstock improved to 7-2-1 with a 5-1 victory over the 3-6-1 Otters. Wasp Emilio Montano racked up four goals and an assist. Late in the second half, OV junior Maxwell Williams chased down a loose ball in the Woodstock box and passed the ball to Reilly Shannon, who tallied for the Otters.
The Otters face rival Proctor on Saturday.
EAGLE BOYS
On Tuesday, visiting Rice (5-3) got three goals from Evan Roleau in a 5-0 victory over the Eagle boys. Goalies Toby Bunch andEthan DeWitt combined for five saves for the 2-5-1 Eagles, who dropped their third straight.
