Letter to the editor: A&P advertisement shows times, prices have changed

On a recent weekend, I was looking through a box of miscellaneous items when I came upon an A&P store ad for grocery and meat prices and also produce.
The ad was 35 years old. It was in a local paper dated July 4, 1982. I worked for the A&P company for 35 years. The month I retired was August the same year.
Now, people have to work two or three jobs to keep themselves afloat to make an honest living. The prices now have doubled and tripled since, and so hasn’t everything else.
