Bristol company hires new product director for education design
BRISTOL — SchoolHack Solutions, the Bristol company that makes education software, recently hired Thierry Uwilingiyimana as a product director.
“Thierry’s strong technical background combined with his deep understanding of learner-centered education and design thinking will add tremendous value to our team,” CEO David Lipkin said in a press release.
Uwilingiyimana comes to SchoolHack as a former-founder and leader of two education startups. He co-founded ClassTracks Inc., an online vocabulary software for English Language Learners and students with limited English proficiency. Uwilingiyimana also worked with founders of Acton Academy to develop a progressive elementary school built on Montessori principles.
Born in Rwanda, Uwilingiyimana and his family came to the United States seeking asylum from their war-torn country. He attended Stanford University, where he studied software engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems and control systems. With several years in software development, Uwilingiyimana earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship at the Acton School of Business in Austin, Texas.
At SchoolHack, Uwilingiyimana will manage the company’s product development strategy, build the technical team, and support business development activities.
Lipkin said SchoolHack has seen expanding work with schools across the country, and that requires the company to focus on scalability and the seamless integration of its LiFT software with other systems.
