Local baseball teams fall short

ADDISON COUNTY — The Mount Abraham Union High School baseball team took its first loss on Tuesday, when the Vergennes and Middlebury squads also came up short.
EAGLES
Host Burlington blanked the Eagles, 10-0, as Seahorse hurler Chris Fenimore allowed just two hits in a six-inning stint. Adam Whitcomb took the loss as Mount Abe dropped to 3-1.
TIGERS
Host South Burlington topped the Tigers, 14-4, scoring eight times in the first inning off losing pitcher Wyatt Cameron, who allowed just one more run in four more innings. Hale Hescock led the Tigers with three hits, and Jordan Stearns contributed an RBI double as MUHS fell to 0-4.
COMMODORES
Host Mount Mansfield cruised by VUHS, 15-4, as five Cougars had multi-hit games. Casey Kimball led VUHS (1-2) with three hits and an RBI, and Hunter O’Connor poked two hits and scored a run. Will Wormer started on the mound and lost after surrendering the first six Cougar runs.
