Rutland man to be sentenced in felony case

MIDDLEBURY — An Addison County jury on April 14 convicted a West Rutland man on a felony count of lewd and lascivious conduct, stemming from an incident in Salisbury during the summer of 2015.
Henry Foster, 41, will be sentenced on July 10 for what county prosecutors said was an offense of “acting in a sexually inappropriate way” toward a girl who was 17 years old at the time.
The girl filed her complaint in November of 2015, according to authorities, who subsequently charged Foster with felony lewd and lascivious conduct, a crime that carries a potential penalty of up to five years in jail and up to a $300 fine. Foster pleaded innocent to the charge and requested a jury trial in Addison County Superior Court.
Addison County Deputy State’s Attorney Chris Perkett prosecuted the case, while attorney Christopher Moll represented Foster.
Det. Ruth Whitney, who investigated the case, said the day-long, April 14 trial culminated in a “guilty” verdict from the jury following less than an hour of deliberation.
