Note of Appreciation: Marquis Theater owner is an asset to Addison County
The Middlebury community is strengthened by the presence of the Marquis Theater, and owner Ben Wells.
Our Middlebury Huddle, formed in the wake of the Women’s March on Washington in January 2017, meets to discuss political and social events and to organize opportunities for educating ourselves and the general public about current events.
In early May, we sponsored the screening of the film “Denial” at The Marquis theater to stimulate discussion of free speech, among other topics. Ben Wells was not only generous in his terms for our using the theater, but an enthusiastic supporter of our community efforts. As a result of this event, we were able to donate $435 to the Open Door Clinic in Middlebury.
We are very grateful to him, and for the presence of the theater as a community hub. Thank you, Ben!
