WhistlePig’s ‘Black Prince Rye’ earns best in show
SHOREHAM — Officials at WhistlePig Whiskey have been whistling some happy tunes in recent months.
This spring saw release “FarmStock,” the Shoreham distillery’s first installment of whiskey using rye culled from its 400-acre farm off Quiet Valley Road in Shoreham. The company’s “Black Prince Rye” won “best in show” at the prestigious 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.”
And then, WhistlePig was the centerpiece of an extensive article and photo-spread on cnn.com praising Vermont-based distilleries. You can read the article online at tinyurl.com/y7kb7w2g.
WhistlePig Founder Raj Peter Bhakta welcomed this measure of success.
“When I started WP on a dilapidated farm in Shoreham, the objective was very clear: Procure, finish and produce the very finest whiskey in the world and to seize and dominate the heights of the whiskey world,” he said. “We are well on our way, and the world is now starting to realize the extent to which WhistlePig is emerging as the new gold standard for whiskey globally. All in Full Stop.”
