Bristol Police Log: Local cops have typical week of activity

BRISTOL — Bristol police on Dec. 20 investigated a report of a person falling off a bike and allegedly sustaining an injury on Mountain Street.
Police checked that area and could not find the person.
In other activity from Dec. 18 to 24, the Bristol Police Department:
• Conducted foot and vehicle patrols throughout the village area, including the Mountain, North and Main Street areas in the vicinity of Bristol Elementary School and the town park.
• Conducted enforcement of the winter parking ban ordinance in the Main Street area, and attempted to locate violators.
• Fulfilled several fingerprinting requests made by area residents for volunteer or employment purposes.
• Conducted traffic enforcement in several areas of the community in response to concerns voiced by neighborhood residents. Enforcement areas included North Street near Plank Road, the southeast area of town, Burpee Road, Monkton Road and East Street. Police said they issued some warnings for speeding and defective equipment.
• Conducted several security checks at Mount Abraham Union High School.
• Helped a local resident on Dec. 18 complete a trespass notice to be served against an unwanted person.
• Initiated a truancy investigation involving a local student on Dec. 20.
• Joined Vermont State Police in conducting a drunken driving checkpoint on Monkton Road near Hazel Drive on Dec. 20. Police said they flagged no drunken drivers.
• Interviewed the drivers involved in a minor accident in the Maplefields store parking lot on West Street on Dec. 21. The drivers exchanged insurance information.
• Referred a local resident on Dec. 21 to Addison County Superior Court to get relief in an ongoing citizen dispute.
• Observed a person believed to have been driving with a suspended license in the village area on Dec. 21. Police said the driver left the scene before the officer could get confirmation of the suspension. When confirmation was received, the officer mailed the driver a ticket for the DLS offense.
• Closed a door that had been left open at a local business on Dec. 24.
