Note of appreciation: Many helped in reading group’s book donation effort

Addison County Readers Inc. (ACR) would like to acknowledge our generous community for helping to make the “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library” program such a success. Currently, more than 1,100 preschool children in Addison County receive a free age-appropriate book in the mail each month.
ACR has just completed its tenth year delivering these free books within our county. As we close out this fiscal year, many thanks are due to local organizations for ongoing financial support: Friends of Ilsley Library, Rotary Club of Middlebury, Middlebury American Legion Post 27, Middlebury American Legion Post 27 Auxiliary, Middlebury Lions Club, United Way of Addison County, Walter Cerf Foundation, Middlebury Eye Associates, National Bank of Middlebury, Waitsfield Champlain Valley Telecom as well as those who gave directly or through payroll deduction.
Ilsley Library and the United Way of Addison County donate their services to provide fiscal and office support. And, in spite of tight budgets, most towns in the county have come forward with generous donations as well.
ACR is also grateful for donations from the Women of Wisdom, Porter Hospital Auxiliary, Neat Repeats, Junebug, Friends of Bixby Library, Friends of New Haven Library, Texture Salon, the Redducs Foundation, Bristol American Legion Post 19, Vergennes Lions Club, Vergennes Rotary and the Vergennes American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14.
Addison County Readers will continue to connect children and their families to books that can build a personal library in their homes. Each book, arriving in the mail, increases reading motivation and gives families the opportunity to share in the joy of spending time reading together. “What goes into a mind comes out in a life.”
