Bulldogs eliminate Tiger girls’ lacrosse, 16-8

MANCHESTER CENTER — Host No. 2 Burr & Burton eliminated the No. 7 Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team from the Division I playoffs in a Saturday quarterfinal, 16-8.
Goalie Cassie Pierce stopped 15 shots for the 13-3 Bulldogs, and Olivia Watanabe and Audrey Anglum tossed in four goals apiece to spark the BBA attack. BBA defeated the Tigers at home for the second time this spring after needing overtime during the regular season.
The Tigers, who graduated 11 seniors from the team that won the previous two D-I titles, finished 9-9 after an 0-4 start.
On Saturday Emily Laframboise and Malia Hodges each scored three times, Ada Anderson recorded a goal and an assist, and Lacey Greenamyre added a goal. Goalie Lydia Deppman made six saves.
