ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police responded to a couple bad crashes this past Sunday afternoon.
First, two men are recovering from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash involving a limousine and a pickup truck on Route 22A in Shoreham on Aug. 4.
Vermont State Police said their preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Ian Swanson, 20, of Durham N.Y., was southbound on Route 22A with trailer in tow at around a quarter after 3 p.m. Police allege Swanson lost control of his vehicle and partially veered onto the shoulder of the southbound lane, then overcorrected, travelling across the centerline and into oncoming northbound traffic. A 2007 Lincoln Town Car driven by 37-year-old Shain Parker of Hinesburg tried to avoid the oncoming Silverado by swerving into the southbound lane, but both vehicles met head-on.
Swanson and his passenger sustained minor injuries, while Parker suffered a broken hand and head trauma, according to authorities.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, police said, and neither alcohol nor drugs played a factor in the collision.
Members of the Shoreham Fire Department and Middlebury Regional EMS assisted state police at the scene.
Separately, a Stockbridge man is recovering from serious injuries after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a farm tractor on Route 125 in Bridport later on Aug. 4.
State police said 56-year-old Richard Hart was traveling east on Route 125 at around 4:40 p.m. and was passing two vehicles and a tractor when the tractor took a left into an adjacent farm field. Hart, according to police, swerved left in an effort to avoid the tractor, but ran into that machine’s front, driver’s-side tire. He then lost control of bike and skidded off Route 125 near its intersection of Market Road.
Hart was taken to Porter Medical Center for treatment of what police described as “serious, but not life-threatening injuries.” Hart was later taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center for further care, according to authorities.
The driver of the tractor — Andrea LaFountain, 44, of Bridport — was not injured in the crash, according to state police.
State police were assisted on scene by members of the Middlebury police, the Bridport Fire Department and Middlebury Regional EMS.

Those incidents followed another serious traffic crash in the county on Saturday. A Philadelphia, Pa., man was treated for what state police described as “serious injuries” after he drove off Lake Dunmore Road and into a tree at around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 3.
Police believe that 23-year-old Marcus Mamourian was speeding when his vehicle left the road. State police cited Mamourian for negligent operation of a vehicle in connection with the accident.
He was taken to Porter Hospital for treatment of his undisclosed injuries.
Salisbury and Middlebury fire and rescue squads assisted state police on this one.
Meanwhile, on Aug. 1 at 4:40 p.m. a trooper stopped a motor vehicle on Route 7 in Middlebury for not being properly inspected. The operator was identified as Cheryl Barrows, 54, of Brandon. Police cited Barrows for driving with a suspended license and violation of court-ordered conditions.
The day before, on July 30, troopers issued a report saying that on July 20 at just before 5 p.m. they received a report of an intoxicated man lying on the ground on Delong Road in Cornwall. Troopers identified the man as 67-year-old Joseph Larocque. While speaking with Larocque, troopers detected several signs of impairment.
Through investigation state police determined that Larocque had driven a vehicle on a public highway while impaired.
Troopers took Larocque to Porter Hospital in Middlebury to be medically evaluated. While at Porter Hospital, Larocque consented to provide a sample of his blood. The blood sample has been forwarded to the Vermont Forensics Laboratory for examination. 
Larocque was released to the care of Porter Hospital with a citation to appear in Addison County District Court, Criminal Division on Oct. 7 to answer to the charge of driving under the influence, fourth offense, pending results of the blood examination.
