Cram pleads innocent in child-luring case

WEYBRIDGE — A 27-year-old Weybridge man on Aug. 21 pleaded innocent in Chittenden Superior Court, criminal division, to four charges — including felony sexual assault — stemming from an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
In addition to sexual assault, Travis Cram has been charged with two felony counts of luring a child and a misdemeanor charge of electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.
Cram was released on conditions following his arraignment after posting $10,000 bail, according to court documents.
Vermont State Police investigators allege Cram “engaged in a sexual act” with the girl on July 20 at a Weybridge home, and that he attempted to lure the same girl into engaging in a sex act on both Aug. 8 and 9.
Cram is also accused of having allegedly sent the minor indecent material (electronically) on Aug. 9.
The victim, according to court records, had previously been molested earlier in her life.
Conviction on a felony sexual assault charge carries a penalty of three years to life in jail and/or a fine of up to $25,000. The felony luring charges each carry penalties of up to five years in jail and/or a fine of up to $10,000. The misdemeanor charge of sending indecent material to a minor is punishable by up to a year in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.
