Lincoln FD honors Scully for her service

LONGTIME LINCOLN FIRST responder Eleanor Scully shows off her likeness on the poster advertising the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department’s Father’s Day Barbecue this past June.

LINCOLN — On this past Father’s Day, 90-year-old Eleanor Scully was honored by the Lincoln Fire Company at the organization’s annual barbecue.
Since 1990, Scully has served the Lincoln community as a first responder. The Lincoln resident and retired nurse also worked for the Bristol Rescue Squad, which serves Bristol, Monkton, New Haven, Starksboro and Lincoln. Before moving to Lincoln, she and her husband, Bud, were EMTs in New Jersey for 17 years.
To advertise the event, the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, which operates the emergency medical services in town, produced an attractive poster that featured a drawing of Scully done by fire chief Dan Ober. The LVFD also published this note of thanks on their Facebook page:
“We would also like to thank Eleanor Scully again for all she has done not only for our little town, but for the many people she has help as a member of Bristol Rescue.”
Everyone who knows Scully is grateful for her many years of dedication and knowledge and caring.
