POSTPONED: McKibben to speak at Green Mountain Club meeting

UPDATE: Due to the snow and ice on Feb. 6, the club has postponed this meeting until a future date. When that date is determined they will announce it.
MIDDLEBURY — Author, environmentalist and activist, Bill McKibben will be the featured speaker at the Green Mountain Club Breadloaf Section’s 45th Annual Meeting. McKibben will give a the talk “The Climate Fight, A Report from the Front” at the meeting on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society, 2 Duane Ct., in Middlebury. 
The meting will commence at 6:30 p.m. with a brief social time and refreshments and a business meeting. McKibben will begin his talk at 7:30 p.m. McKibben is the Schumann Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Studies at Middlebury College. In 1988 he wrote “The End of Nature,” the first book for a common audience about global warming. His most recent book is “Falter, Has the Human Game Begun to Play Itself Out?” He is a co-founder and Senior Advisor at 350.org, an international climate campaign that works in 188 countries around the world. 
The event is free and open to the public. Voluntary donations are welcomed and will benefit Green Mountain Club.
