ADDISON COUNTY — Do you like to sing? Maiden Vermont, women’s a capella chorus, specializes in barbershop-style harmonies, and it is inviting interested singers to visit a rehearsal any Thursday during February to find out if they want to sign on.
The rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. at the gymnasium in Salisbury Community School on Kelly Cross Road in Salisbury.
Maiden Vermont includes members from Addison and Rutland counties. The chorus is led by director Lindi Bortney of Ripton and performs a big concert in the late fall plus many other dates throughout the year.
For instance, this year the group will perform “Free Love Singing Valentines” at Middlebury senior living facilities on Feb. 14 and sing at Naturalization Ceremony in Brandon on May 6. August will be a busy month as the ladies are scheduled to sing during the Dragon Boat Festival on the Burlington waterfront Aug. 2, sing at the Hancock bandstand on Aug. 13, and perform Aug. 22 in Montpelier at a big Suffragette Celebration.
Also on the schedule for this year are the annual Town Hall Theater performance on Oct. 24 in Middlebury and Vergennes Holiday Stroll performance at the Bixby Memorial Library on Dec. 5.
