Lincoln news for Mar. 12

LINCOLN — Bridges presents the film “Hidden Figures” on Wednesday, March 25, at 7 p.m., at the library. Based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s nonfiction book, “Hidden Figures” follows three female African-American mathematicians, Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, as they quickly rose in the ranks of NASA. They were the brains behind calculating the launch coordinates for astronaut John Glenn’s orbit and guaranteeing his safe return.
There will be an early education developmental screening on Thursday, March 26, at Bristol Elementary School. Children will have the opportunity to play using art materials, blocks, puzzles and imaginative play materials. Parents can share about their child and learn more about their child’s communication, social-emotional and motor development. Children from MAUSD who are three years old by September 1 or currently four years old are invited to attend. Time slots available are 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The screening is free and will last about one hour. To schedule an appointment, call the MAUSD Early Education Program at 453-3674.
SAVE THE DATE

REMINDER
There will be a children’s after school craft at the library on Wednesday, March 18, from 3-4 p.m.
