BRISTOL — Students and staff preparing for Mount Abraham Union High School’s spring musical, “The Addams Family,” were in the final push of preparations, when something truly scary — coronavirus — stepped in and forced cancelation of the show.  The musical was due to run March 26-28, but instead everyone — actors and crew alike — dismantled the set on Saturday, March 14. The actors took some time to have a last run-through of the show.
Shown, clockwise from top left, are sign painters Olivia Campbell, Abby Johnson, Lily Roberts and senior Rosemary Thurber (described as a major driving force behind the production and a dynamo); senior Peter McNerney gets into his role as Uncle Fester; Lucas Beineke (Evan Jennison) makes a point to his parents Mal (Ethan DeWitt) and Alice (Lily Roberts); bottom right, six of the leads (Juliette Snell, Wisdom Edwards, Johnson, Jennison, DeWitt, and Roberts) sing a “three-way duet” while the rest of the cast dances behind; the gang takes a lunch break, Abby Johnson plays Wednesday Addams while Juliette Snell (Morticia) and Wisdom Edwards (Gomez) listen and Mae Peterson and Hannah Marcum look on from behind; below, parents and directors take photos to commemorate the show that never got an opening night.
