Mt. Abe’s Johnston named co-player of the year

ADDISON COUNTY — Nine local high school girls’ basketball players received postseason recognition. 
Mount Abraham senior Chloe Johnston was named the Lake Division Co-Player of the Year, along with Mount Mansfield’s Caitlyn Luitjens.
Vergennes junior Kate Gosliga joined Johnston on the Lake First Team. 
Otter Valley senior Livia Bernhardt was picked for the Southern Vermont League B Division First Team. 
Two Otters, Alia Edmunds and Alice Keith, were named to the SVL B Division Second Team, and Commodore Felicia Poirier made the Lake Division Second Team. 
Two players earned Lake Honorable mention, Middlebury’s Ele Sellers and Emily Rooney of Vergennes.  
Finally, five players were named to annual North-South Senior All-Star games, which were not staged. 
The Division III/IV South girls’ roster included Bernhardt, Edmunds and Leah Pinkowski from OV, and Rooney from VUHS. 
Johnston from Mount Abe made the Division I/II North girls’ roster.
