BRISTOL — Elizabeth Rae Simonds, born on July 18, 1960, and married to Derek Simonds, passed in her childhood home on Sept. 11, 2020.
Beth sadly left behind two grandchildren whom she adored, Jaxson Ramone, 2, and Autumn Katherine, 8.
Beth grew up on the Fuller Farm in Bristol, Vt. She married young and had her first child, Randy Russell. She spent some time traveling as her first husband was deployed to Guam for the Vietnam War. She returned to the family farm and remarried, having her second child Cassandra Fraser.
Beth raised her children on the family farm and couldn’t have been more happy to spend her remaining days where she had so many cherished memories.
Over the years Beth maintained a career in healthcare, working as a LNA, EMT, and Pharmacy Technician. She especially enjoyed these jobs as she was so very sweet and loved helping others. She also followed in her father’s footsteps and drove a bus for Mt. Abraham Union High School for a number of years.
Beth’s life changed abruptly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She fought hard but could not overcome the diagnosis. She took her last breaths holding the hands of her husband, son, and best friend Tori Lathrop. Also at her bedside were her brother Michael Wedge, sister Sandra Lunn, sister Cynthia O’Bryan, niece Sherri Bird, and sister-in-law Darceline Lewis. Unable to join physically was her brother Fred Wedge and wife Alberta, sister Susan Fuller, and daughter Cassandra Fraser, however they were there in spirit.
A public gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m., at her family’s farm, located at 1425 Route 116 North, in Bristol.◊
