School consolidation talks in Bridport on Tuesday, Salisbury next Monday
BRIDPORT/SALISBURY — Addison Central School District officials continues to hold Facilities Master Plan Porch Conversations in locations throughout the district. The conversations are an opportunity for the community to come together in small groups to engage directly with ACSD Board Chair Mary Cullinane and Facilities Committee Chair Victoria Jette on the topic of the Facilities Master Planning process.
ACSD for the past couple years has been working on a facilities master plan that will help the school board determine which elementary schools should fit into the district’s future plans and which could be mothballed to save money during this era of declining enrollment and rising public education costs.
The next two Porch Conversations are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in Bridport and Monday, Nov. 2, at 5:30 p.m. in Salisbury. Anyone who would like to attend one of these Porch Conversations, can sign up using ACSD’s SignUpGenius account. If unable to attend a Porch Conversation and the available dates don’t work, contact Amy McGlashan by sending her an email through the SignUpGenius sign up account.
The ACSD School Board has also been recording a series of E-Chat videos to provide the community an opportunity to gain greater understanding of what is going on in the school district and answer questions. The fourth E-Chat video, The ACSD Facilities Master Plan: Increasing Supports and Services for our Students, is now available on the ACSD website at acsdvt.org/fmp.
