Tigers the only winners in boys’ hoop action
ADDISON COUNTY — Middlebury won to highlight recent local high school boys’ basketball play.
In games the Independent covered with full write-ups, the Vergennes boys hosted Harwood on Monday, and MUHS visited Mount Abraham on Feb. 26; see stories in this section.
OTTERS-TIGERS
On Monday, the Tigers bolted to an 18-4 lead on the way to a 56-41 victory over the host Otters. Max Alberts paced MUHS with 19 as the Tigers evened their record at 3-3.
Hayden Bernhardt led the 0-5 Otters with 15 points and added 10 rebounds.
On Feb. 25, visiting Mount St. Joseph took a 10-0 lead en route to a 55-36 win over the OV boys. Andre Prunty and Jerimiah Green each scored 15 points to pace MSJ. Cole Letourneau led the Otters with 10 points.
EAGLES
On Monday host Milton outlasted Mount Abe, 62-52. The Yellowjackets took a 32-22 lead at the half and maintained their advantage. Kyle Brown led Milton with 26 points. Quincy Cook led the 2-4 Eagles with a dozen points, and Henry Cogswell and Miles Peterson chipped in eight apiece.
COMMODORES
On Feb. 26, host Division I Mount Mansfield pulled away to defeat the VUHS boys, 45-28. Tyler Bergmans scored a game-high 11 points for the 0-3 Commodores. Ten Cougars scored, led by Dylan Hamilton’s 10 points.
