Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys livestream on Friday

Caffe Lena — recognized as the longest continuously operating folk music venue in the United States — is proud to partner with the Ripton Community Coffee House in Ripton to co-present a virtual concert with Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys on Friday, March 12. The Ripton Community Coffee House has been bringing music and joy to Vermont since 1995 and shares the same community-driven ideals as Caffe Lena (located in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) as well as presents many of the same voices on their stage, including Jim Gaudet.
Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys are both old-timey and timeless. On one hand, their music is a gumbo platter of nostalgia, carrying listeners back to 1960s Louisiana and recalling memories of Hank Williams or the Stanley Brothers. But Gaudet and his band also serve as reminders of why old-time music continues to flourish and inspire today. While their genre has roots, their lyrics and songwriting feel fresh and powerful, often featuring sharply funny satire. With up-tempo, dance-friendly music and a lively, engaging stage presence, Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys have attracted an avid fan base, within the world of bluegrass and beyond.
For this concert the band will feature Jim Gaudet (guitar), Bobby Ristau (bass), Sten Isachsen, (mandolin and electric guitar), and Tucker Callander (fiddle).
The music will be available at 8 p.m. on March 12 at facebook.com/CaffeLenaInc or the Ripton Community Coffee House Facebook page (facebook.com/RiptonCommunityCoffeeHouse) or Youtube channel.
While the pandemic keeps us from gathering in one location, the music continues online, though sadly without the open mic or delicious baked goods.
