Note of appreciation: Local fire departments set record collecting for Have a Heart Food Shelf

Last Saturday the fire departments of Bristol, Monkton, Lincoln, New Haven and Starksboro held their annual food drive to benefit the Have a Heart Food Shelf.
The food drive set a new record. Over 4,650 pounds of food was donated by the citizens of the five-town area.
Thank you to all who gave food, time and money to this worthy cause. Special thanks to the men and women firefighters who made this possible. Thank you to the 25-plus people who volunteered Monday afternoon to sort and put away all the food collected.
The Have a Heart Food Shelf is humbled by the generosity of this community.
The shelves are full going into winter and we are grateful.
Thank you.
