ACTR announces new schedule

Middlebury — Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) will launch an improved Shuttle Bus schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The upgrades were named as top priorities by riders and supported by an efficiency study that looked at unmet community needs and under-performing areas. Highlights from the new schedule include:
•  More midday service on the Tri-Town Shuttle bus between Middlebury, Bristol and Vergennes routes.
•  Modified Middlebury Route 7 south bus in the morning to better accommodate school drop-offs.
•  New Middlebury Route 7 south bus stop on Lacrosse Drive to better serve Middlebury’s Town Gym and Creek Road.
•  Modified Snow Bowl schedules to better match rider usage.
“While all the changes are important, I am especially thrilled to be moving forward with Tri-Town midday service, a long sought-after improvement,” Jim Moulton, executive director of ACTR enthused. “All of these upgrades had been on hold while project managers for the downtown bridge project helped us search for a new location for our Merchant’s Row Transit Hub. With South Pleasant Street identified as the likely temporary location, we were able to move forward with schedules that will work for both the current and future hubs.”
The Oct. 12 schedule launch will be supported by new signage at all bus stops, new schedule brochures as well as updates to www.actr-vt.org and Google Transit. Riders may also call 388-ACTR(2287) for more information.
ACTR’s mission is to enhance the economic, social and environmental health of the region by providing public transportation services that are safe, reliable, accessible and affordable for everyone.
