ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school girls’ soccer play in the latter half of last week, Otter Valley and Mount Abraham picked up wins, Middlebury earned a road tie, and Vergennes came up short.
The regular season concludes this week, and the Vermont Principals’ Association will announce playoff pairings on this coming Monday.
OTTERS
On Wednesday, OV blanked host Bellows Falls, 5-0, as Julia Eastman scored three times in the second half to help the Otters stretch a 2-0 halftime advantage. Olivia Drew andColby Reynolds chipped in an goal and an assist apiece, andMary Kingsley andJulia Lee added helpers.
OV improved to 5-7 and can craft the program’s third season of .500 or better by finishing with wins on the road vs. Windsor on Wednesday and at home on Friday vs. Leland and Gray.
EAGLES
On Friday, the Eagles scored three times in the second half to defeat visiting Missisquoi, 3-0. Nesta McIntosh netted the tiebreaker and set up goals by Lydia Pitts andKeeley Kane. Mae Peterson assisted McIntosh’s strike, and neither of two Mount Abe goalies, Genysis Berube andEmma LaRose, faced a shot. MVU’s Jenna Bourdeau made 10 saves.
The Eagles improved to 6-6 with what was their third straight victory and face Rice (11-1) and VUHS down the stretch. 
TIGERS
The Division I Tigers on Friday earned a 0-0 road tie with one of D-II’s top teams, Milton (9-2-1) on Friday. Tiger goalie Riley Fenster worked a five-save shutout, while Madison North stopped six shots for the Yellowjackets.
The Tigers are 4-6-2 with games left vs. VUHS and Missisquoi, two teams they have defeated this fall.
COMMODORES
Host Rice dealt VUHS another in a series of close losses for the Commodores, 2-0. It was the Green Knights’ eighth straight win. VUHS has lost four straight and six of seven, with each setback by one or two goals. Anya Sonwaldt made eight saves for VUHS, and Hannah Miller stopped six shots for Rice.
VUHS (4-7-1) wraps up with games this week vs. the Eagles and Tigers.
