MUHS wrestler will compete Down Under

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury Union High School wrestler Dustin Davio has been selected to compete in the 29th annual Down Under Sports Tournament in Australia next summer. Davio is junior who wrestles at 138 pounds for the Tigers.
Last winter as a sophomore, Davio finished sixth in the Vermont State Meet wrestling at 132 pounds. His coach, Ethan Raymond, says Davio has even greater drive and maturity this season.
Davio said he is honored to be an ambassador for Middlebury and Vermont, and also, as a member of the East Conference Wrestling Team, an ambassador for the United States.
Over the next six months Davio will be raising funds to help pay for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He is seeking donations from members of the community and businesses. So far he says he will be soliciting donations from wrestling enthusiasts at the Hubie Wagner Invitational wrestling tournament, which will be held at MUHS on Dec. 28 and 29.
He will also reach out at other home sporting events this winter.
