Vermont Folk Rocker chairs to be raffled for arts benefit

BRISTOL — 5-Town Friends of the Arts is selling raffle tickets for a beautiful Vermont Folk Rocker created by Jim Geier to raise money to support art and cultural programs for children throughout Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton, New Haven and Starksboro. 5-TFA offers applicants the opportunity to apply for community grants twice annually.
In 2016, 5-TFA saw an increase in applications for these grants, and this raffle will help the organization make funds available to more applicants.Through the 5-TFA’s Community Grant program, libraries, schools and community organizations are given the opportunity to provide art, music, theater, cultural and historical programs that enrich the educational experience for our area children.
The Vermont Folk Rocker was designed in 1974 by Jim Geier. Shaker-inspired, the chair developed out of a desire for a simple classic aesthetic. The design has been well-tested throughout the years, resulting in a handcrafted rocking chair with a rich wood texture of the highest quality, intended to last for generations.
Raffle tickets are $10 each and only 300 will be sold. Tickets are available at Art on Main gallery on Main Street in Bristol. The chair will be exhibited at various events and locations around Bristol and tickets will be available at those locations as well. The raffle drawing will take place on April 9, at 5-TFA’s annual celebration. For more information email [email protected] or go to www.5townfriendsofthearts.org.
