Letter to the editor: Hamas captives must be freed
One year.
It has been one year since the worst mass murder of Jewish people since the Shoah.
One year since 250 hostages were kidnapped while just living their lives.
101 souls remain in captivity still, one year later; the world seems to have forgotten.
Kfir Bibas is not even two years old and has spent the majority of his life as a hostage. Is he hungry? Is he with his parents and brother Ariel (who recently had his fifth birthday in captivity)? Are they even still alive?
Where is the outcry? Where is the U.N., the Red Cross, Amnesty International? How can the world allow this to continue? Keeping civilians as hostages is a violation of international law; where is the pressure on Hamas to release them?
One year: 365 days, 8,750 hours, 525,600 minutes. We must not forget the hostages; we must not stop working for their release until they all come home.
Bring them home. Now.
