Farmers group celebrates growth at annual meeting

NEARLY 100 FARMERS, researchers, state officials and community members gathered at Middlebury VFW Post 7823 on Jan. 18 for the Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition’s annual meeting. At the gathering, coalition staff highlighted new programs the organization has launched and plans for the upcoming year.

The Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition has seen plenty of growth during the past year, from welcoming new members and staff, to launching a workforce development program for local high school students interested in agriculture.
