Vergennes Police Log for Nov. 16
VERGENNES — City police last week helped a seriously ill juvenile at the John Graham Shelter receive medical care after being asked on Nov. 6 to accompany the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad on a call.
Police said they could not discuss many details of a case that remains under investigation, but that the juvenile is currently hospitalized and in state custody.
Also between Nov. 6 and 12, Vergennes police conducted nine patrols in cruisers, six traffic stops and a VIN inspection; fingerprinted three job applicants; responded to a false alarm; and:
On Nov. 6:
• Received a tip of possible illegal drug activity on Armory Lane.
• Signed off on a form indicating that a New York resident had fixed faulty equipment on a vehicle, a condition that the individual not receive a traffic citation from that state.
On Nov. 7:
• At the request of an out-of-state caller checked the welfare of a possibly suicidal resident, learning the individual was OK and receiving counseling.
• Were told of a suspicious person in a West Street backyard; police spoke to the juvenile and his parents, but said there was no criminal intent evident.
On Nov. 8 dealt with a minor one-car accident on Main Street.
On Nov. 9:
• Were told by a resident that there were $2,900 in unauthorized charges on her Amazon account that seemed to originate from Massachusetts. Police referred her to the Attorney General’s fraud division and requested more information about the transactions.
• Helped a Main Street resident get into a locked apartment.
On Nov. 10 checked on the welfare of a Walker Avenue resident on behalf of the apartment manager and determined the individual was OK.
