Game, set, match: Locals play Community Tennis
MIDDLEBURY INDOOR TENNIS held its first-ever Community Match on Saturday, April 8, from 3-7:30 p.m. The Middlebury Indoor Tennis team, left, defeated the MUHS Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team 8-4. The match started with a recognition of David and Eleanor Ignat, who built the MIT facility and then donated it to the Addison County Community Foundation, and Franz Collas, who taught many of the players currently on the Tiger team from a young age. In the recognition ceremony, below, Heather Potter, left, coach of the Community team, David Ignat, MUHS Coach Ken Schoen, Eleanor Ignat, and Franz Collas meet at center court to a standing ovation.
