Ferrisburgh to buy church as congregation dwindles

THE TOWN OF Ferrisburgh is set to accept ownership of the Ferrisburgh Center Methodist Church, which sits next to the town’s Route 7 office building. The church, which like many is faced with a dwindling congregation, was deconsecrated on Dec. 17 to allow the transfer. A bittersweet ceremony held on Dec. 17 at the Ferrisburgh Center Methodist Church was a prelude for the planned transfer of the Route 7 church property to the town of Ferrisburgh.
