Boogie on down to the Marble Works for Foodaroo 11 on Aug. 2
On Sunday, Aug. 2, Middlebury’s Foodaroo festival will celebrate 11 years with a world of cuisines, the All Night Boogie Band, an adult beverage garden, street performers, and two King Arthur Flour baking competitions. Presented by Middlebury Underground (MUD), Foodaroo returns to Middlebury’s Historic Marble Works District overlooking the falls in Middlebury — featuring food trucks and restaurants from across Vermont. Cover $5 (cash). Kids 12 and under free. Food and beverages available for purchase. Foodaroo is proud to donate a portion of proceeds to Food for Hope — a common-good farm project working to close the gaps in Vermont’s local food system. The event will run from 4-8 p.m. (Weather date: Sunday, Aug. 9).
TASTE VERMONT
Foodaroo 11 will feature all-time festival favorites, as well as newcomers, providing a delicious taste of the farm-to-table lifestyle that is a hallmark of our state. Food and beverage vendors include: American Flatbread; Aladdin’s Mediterranean; A Taste of Abyssinia (Ethiopian and Eritrean!); Crazy Cotton Candy; Crooked Ladle; Dougy Fresh (gyros!); Food for Hope; Gene’s Chili Hut (chili dogs, burgers); Good Times Co.; La Chata’s Churros; Lulu Ice Cream; Mexico in Vermont; Little Seed Coffee; Rollin’ Rooster; Steven’s Farmstead; Maharaja Spice (Indian!); Shiretown’s BBQ; Taco Truck All Stars; Sisters of Anarchy Ice Cream; Stone Leaf Tea House, and more! Zero Gravity beer, hard cider, and summer cocktails will be offered at two American Flatbread bars. The adult beverage sampling tent features WhistlePig Whiskey, Shacksbury, Split Spirits, Lincoln Peak, and Golden Rule Mead.
A FEAST FOR ALL SENSES
Foodaroo is about food and performance that exhilarates and engages all ages. The award-winning blues, rock and soul act The All Night Boogie Band will electrify with their quintet and Janis Joplin-esque vocals. They will play classic songs and debut music from their recent summer album release “Close Your Eyes and See.” This year’s festival also welcomes two celebrated street performers: the world-famous Red Trouser Show and stunt comedian Wacky Chad. Hip-Hop DJ sensation Serena Kim (who DJ’d the Yankees’ third World Series victory party) will kick off the festival, and close it out with a DJ and pole dance extravaganza featuring Krystal Young.
TWO KING ARTHUR FLOUR BAKING CONTESTS — FOR KIDS & ADULTS!
Foodaroo is honored to host King Arthur Flour baking contests for the 10th year, one of the exclusive festivals nationwide that offer these exciting competitions. For more information on this year’s pie competitions, visit middunderground.org/kingarthur.
ABOUT THE ALL NIGHT BOOGIE BAND
Since coming together in the Green Mountains of Vermont during 2021, the group has vigorously carved out a reputation as a premier live act with a distinct and original sound — and is singing it loud and clear. With roots dug deep into the blues, soul and rock and roll records that have defined music for generations (and while hand-crafting and fine tuning themselves over hundreds of live performances along the East Coast) the band has churned out three full-length LPs of raw, authentic, and honest music that tells it like it is. Sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Gary Clark Jr., Grace Potter, Eddie 9V, Jackie Venson, Dwight + Nicole, and Blues Hall of Famer Lurrie Bell — All Night Boogie Band is hungry for more.
