JUNE LINDA TORREY OBST

SHOREHAM — June Linda Torrey Obst passed away peacefully June 18, 2026, just a few days shy of her 78th birthday. June was born June 22, 1948, to Forrest and Iola (Howe) Torrey.

She graduated high school in 1966. She met the love of her life Thomas Obst at their Plattsburgh Air Force base in 1971 around Thanksgiving time. They married on March 25, 1972. They had two daughters, Michelle and Victoria. Throughout the years she worked on her family farm in Shoreham, Vt., and also took care of her many nieces and nephews.

June is predeceased by her husband, Thomas; her daughter Michelle; and her two brothers, Duane and James.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria and Jamie Mack; her son-in-law Todd Wright (Tracey); her five grandchildren, Kayla and John Hoadley, Maria and Troy Provencher, Serena Welch, Ryan Wright, and Kasi Wendell; as well as her four great-grandchildren, Alaina, Iola, Luke, and Richard.

In honor of June’s love for farming, we are asking for only donations to go to Middlebury Future Farmers of America (FFA) at 51 Charles Avenue, Middlebury, Vermont 05753.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. ◊
