Letter/poem to the editor: Thinking of You and What the World Needs to Do

Stand on a bridge with a sign.

If you can’t do that, honk.

Driving around in a circle.

Decide what you can live without.

Give it up. Before you forget.

What it is.

Stop in your tracks.

Don’t be so surprised.

Find the right verb

inside your heart.

Sleep by the border.

Carry enough money.

To bail yourself out.

Dream in translation.

Forego any list.

Without your name.

Remember the world

as it was.

It is. Write this

letter. To the editor.

Sign it. Before you forget.

The water under

the bridge. Its river

of signs.

Floating there.
