Vermont State Police Log for Feb. 13
ADDISON COUNTY — In the only news from the Vermont State Police barracks in New Haven last week, a trooper announced another in a series of citations issued for home improvement fraud.
Trooper Jacqueline June late last week cited Norman Bevins, 50, of Barnard for that crime. State police had been contacted on July 6, 2024, regarding a possible home improvement fraud. Bevins was hired through Middlebury Roofing Corp. for a roofing project in Ferrisburgh. Bevins allegedly received an upfront payment for the repairs, however never performed the work. Ultimately, Bevins failed to follow on contract between him and the victim nor did he provide a refund for the services not rendered, police said.
Bevins is due to answer the home improvement fraud charge in Addison County Superior Court, criminal division, on March 17.
