Vermont State Police Log: Man cited for DUI in Salisbury
ADDISON COUNTY — After seeing a motor vehicle violation on Lower Plains Road near Plains Road in Salisbury this past Saturday evening. Vermont State Police pulled over a car driven by Michael W. Lackard, 42, of Salisbury.
As the trooper spoke with Lackard, they became concerned that Lackard was impaired, so they screened him for driving under the influence. The officer ended up arresting him, and taking Lackard to the New Haven state police barracks, where they cited him for driving under the influence, third offense.
Police also issued Lackard traffic tickets for not being registered, and for the condition of his vehicle. Together those tickets carry fines of $267.
In other recent activity, troopers:
- On Jan. 16 at around 12:30 a.m. were conducting speed enforcement on Route 7 near Greenbush Road in Ferrisburgh when they saw a grey Volkswagen Atlas traveling southbound on Route 7 traveling 86 mph in a 50 mph zone. State police cited Devon T. Langford, 31, of Philadelphia for negligent driving.
- On Jan. 17 shortly after 11 p.m. checked out the report of a one-car crash on Shoreham Whiting Road in Whiting. Police report that Ryan Delisle, 31, of Vergennes was driving a 2008 Jeep Compass that crashed, but he left the scene before troopers arrived. Police investigated, found Delisle and cited him for negligent driving.
Also, state police announced that Route 116 in Starksboro was reduced to one lane in the area of Ireland Road for a while on Monday morning starting around 9 a.m. due to a motor vehicle incident. Also, troopers closed Route 116 in Bristol for a time on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 15, while firefighters battled a blaze on East Street. The fire claimed the life of Steven C.
