Free dance opportunities at Middlebury College

There are two dance opportunities coming up next week at the Mahaney Arts Center in Middlebury. First is “Moving Words: A Text and Movement Workshop” held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 4:30-6 p.m., in the MAC Dance Theater.

Join acclaimed poet Arisa White, interdisciplinary artist and choreographer Katherine Ferrier ’91 for “Moving Words,” a workshop exploring the dynamic relationship between text and movement.

Then on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17-18 see the Dance Company of Middlebury present “Willow’s Apothecary” from 7:30–8:30 p.m. in the MAC Dance Theater.

The Dance Company of Middlebury, directed by Associate Professor of Dance Laurel Jenkins, with guest poet Arisa White, presents an original evening length dance theater work including electronic music by McLean Macionis and lighting design by Bert Crosby and Evelyn Rodriguez ’25.

Free and open to the public.
