Vermont State Police Log: Hit and run suspect sought

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police are asking the public for help in finding the driver who struck a pedestrian in Ferrisburgh late last month.

This past Friday, officers at the state police barracks in New Haven put out the call for information on a Nov. 27 incident in which a vehicle struck Richard Memoli in the parking lot of Kinney Drugs in Ferrisburgh at about 10 minutes before 2 p.m.

Troopers said that the 67-year-old Middlebury man left the scene and was later transported to UVM Medical Center with moderate injuries. State police were not immediately notified of this incident. Now that they are aware of it, they are looking for clues to identify the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven barracks at 802-388-4919 or leave an anonymous tip online at vsp.vermont.gov/prevention/tipsubmit.

In other recent action, troopers were notified on Dec. 5 of a fight in a camper parked in Ferrisburgh. Through investigation, police determined that Ryane Sarra Joyce, 29, of Rutland caused bodily injury to a domestic partner. Troopers cited Sarra-Joyce for domestic assault and violation of court-ordered conditions of release.

Over the past month, troopers of B Troop cited the following individuals on suspicion of driving with a criminally suspended license:

• Kyriek Smith, 23, of Vergennes on Nov. 7 on Route 7 near Route 22A in Ferrisburgh.

• Ronald Real, 50, of Orwell on Nov. 8 on Doolittle Road and Route 22A in Shoreham, and again on Nov. 28 on Route 7 in Ferrisburgh.

• David Ouellette, 58, of Vergennes on Nov. 28 on Route 22A in Vergennes.
