Letter to the editor: Democracy’s time almost up?

An important question: What is the difference between democracy and dictatorship? A short, simple answer: Time.

According to the evidence, we will not need to wait much longer, transitioning overnight from one to the other. Be prepared for autocracy and acquiring less, promoted by delusional discontent. Whatever democracy did for us, it will no longer be doing.

Since we don’t like having our “empty brain” criticized by those who can think, there is no effective resistance.

Guess who has declared himself the “chief law enforcement officer,” which reflects a basic lack of knowledge, or intentions historically similar to single-person rule. Parallels extend to our passive reaction.

I would move to Spain, if my Spanish were better. The spouse prefers French. The dog doesn’t care.
