Halladay Road To Close For Six Weeks

MIDDLEBURY — The town of Middlebury recently announced that Halladay Road will be closed to all traffic, 24 hours a day, for approximately 45 days starting Monday, September 9, for a box culvert project. Good idea to plan alternative routes now.

According to Middlebury’s Director of Planning Emmalee Cherington, “The culvert replacement is adjacent to the pump station that was upgraded last year. There is an existing, undersized corrugated metal culvert that has exceeded its useful life.”

The town will use ARPA funding plus a $200,000 VTrans Structures grant to replace the existing structure with a box culvert. “During this time, Halladay Road will be completely closed to all traffic just south of Middle Road S for a 45-day window beginning on September 9,” explained Cherington. “Vehicles from the north will be able to utilize Middle Road S, while traffic from the south will utilize Three Mile Bridge Road. The closure will impact all parties, including residents.”
