WINOOSKI — Before Tuesday’s Addison County splashdown with the Vergennes Champs, the Middlebury Marlins swim team were edged by the host Winooski Waves on July 11, 239-237.

The Marlins came up short despite an 11 relay victories vs. Winooski’s 8.

Five Marlins picked up three wins apiece: Cassandra Bellmann, Felix Poduschnick, Henry Cadoret, Sadie Chance and Rose Phinney.

Jurgen Pirrung contributed two wins to Middlebury’s cause.

Note: Uncooperative weather led to the postponement of the Marlins-Champs meet. It has been rescheduled to this coming Tuesday.
