Letter to the editor: Bandstand is a key part of Bristol

In response to Claire Corkins’s letter concerning the Bristol band stand.

Thank you!

Your letter was food for my heart.

You got it all right.

The bandstand is an historical structure and it is a symbol of the beauty of Bristol as a community and as a park.

As an older Bristolie, I have many great memories on the band concerts, and the bandstand, having lived here most of my life. As a young person, I applaud you for standing up for my memories, and it’s wonderful to know that you also share them. But then again, we both grew up in Bristol, and that make all the difference.

Thank you, Claire.’
