Letter to the editor: Delisle made a difference for local folks in need
Caroline Delisle, who died on Dec. 20, was a long-time worker at The Middlebury Welfare office and at ACCAG (Addison County Community Action Group). She helped many people in need to navigate social agencies. She gave priority to human need, not bureaucratic policy.
Such a Christian attitude offended bureaucrats in Burlington and Montpellier and even cost her a couple of jobs. More such people are sorely needed to support healthy families. We must, therefore, not listen to fascist Trump stories. Do we want this country to be like Russia? That would be totally against the needs of people served by dedicated public servants such as Caroline.
