Russell Leavstrom, 76, of Monkton/South Burlington

RUSSELL LEAVSTROM

MONKTON/SOUTH BURLINGTON — On Oct. 5, 2023, Russell Leavstrom went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Russ was born on Nov. 1, 1946, in New Haven, Conn., to Norman and Esther (Anderson) Leavstrom. After graduating High School and the Eli Whitney Regional Vocational Technical School for Printing, Russ served in the Army for two years, applying his printing knowledge in Psychological Ops. After his service was done, he began his career in the printing industry. Russ moved to Vermont and worked at Queen City Printers in Burlington for over 30 years. After retiring, he decided to rejoin the workforce, and enjoyed his role at Lowe’s in South Burlington.

The Bristol Christian Fellowship was a very important part of Russ’s life. He especially loved singing and playing the drums on the worship team.

Russ is survived by his wife of 28 years, Judith A. Leavstrom, who was the love of his life. Also, children Chad (Sherri) Allen and their children Jacob, Ryan, and William; Heather (Jason) Barnard and their children Morgan, Brody, and Brooke; Kirsten Leavstrom and her children Harper and Ellie Hendy; Benjamin Allen; and Linnea (Dominic) DeRosia and their children Olivia (Avery Henley) Leavstrom and Madison and Sydney. Also surviving are Russ’s sisters Phyllis Mikhail and Debbie (Mark) Lembke, his nieces and nephews, and his church family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Norman, and his brother Clifford.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Carlos Marroquin for taking such good care of Russ.

Calling Hours will be held at Ready Funeral Home/Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Jct. on Sunday, Oct. 15, from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service will be held at New King Church, 20 Anderson Parkway, in South Burlington, on Monday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. A military burial will take place at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 9 a.m.
