Jessie Raymond: Birthday cakes: How big can we go?

FOR THEIR GRANDSON’S birthday, Jessie Raymond and her handy husband whipped up this rainforest cake the size of a coffee table with two fondant-covered cakes connected by a real rope bridge. Yes, that is a cake.

Several years ago, I started making birthday cakes for my grandson and his baby sister. Soon Mark joined in, and things escalated.
