Letter to the editor: North not seen as moderate

Addison-3 voters should think twice about supporting Republican Rob North for the Vermont House. He presents himself as moderate but if you read his materials and check his September 8 interview with the Addison Independent, he is a cheerleader for Big Oil. He opposes doing everything we can to address climate change and prefers to support the fossil fuel industry.

As we face more deadly, extreme weather around the globe, the fossil fuel companies that Mr. North supports just posted record profits on the backs of Vermont citizens barely able to pay their oil and gasoline bills. Furthermore, according to a recent Congressional investigation, Big Oil spent millions to mislead the public about their role in fueling the climate crisis.

If you want to support someone who cheers on these fossil fuel companies, vote for North. If not, vote no.
