Bristol Police Log: Rutland man cited after crash

BRISTOL — On Aug. 20, while investigating a two-vehicle crash on Prince Lane, Bristol police determined that the license of one of the drivers, Adam Mahoney, 28, of Rutland, had been criminally suspended.

Police cited Mahoney for driving with a criminally suspended license and ordered him to answer the charge in Addison County Superior Court, criminal division, on Oct. 11.

Between Aug. 16 and 29 Bristol police completed 18 foot patrols, conducted three car patrols, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 12 times, at Bristol Elementary School 14 times, and at local businesses 12 times.

Police also completed at least 45 fingerprint requests — many of them from prospective volunteers in the Mount Abraham Unified School District.

During this period the department assisted Vermont State Police twice and Bristol Rescue once.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On Aug. 16 responded to a welfare check request on Morgan Horse Lane and with the assistance of Middlebury police helped someone obtain mental health services.

•  On. Aug 16 responded to a report of suspicious activity on North Street but determined no action rose to the level of an offense.

•  On Aug. 16 addressed parking violations on Lincoln Road.

•  On Aug. 17 began investigating an embezzlement complaint lodged by a West Street business.

•  On Aug. 18 helped someone get into their locked vehicle on Prince Lane.

•  On Aug. 19 began investigating a complaint of suspicious activity on North Street.

•  On Aug. 19 completed online courses in Officer Field Training, Constitutional Law, Case Law and records management.

•  On Aug. 22 investigated a motor vehicle crash on West Street and will complete a report.

•  On Aug. 22 investigated a report of theft on Liberty Street and determined the circumstance was a civil matter.

•  On Aug. 22 addressed parking violations on Lincoln Road.

•  On Aug. 24 responded to a dog left in a hot car on School Street and contacted the owner, who dealt with the issue.

•  On Aug. 24 addressed parking violations on West Street and Park Place.

•  On Aug. 25 responded to a noise complaint on South Street but could not locate the noise.

•  On Aug. 25 began investigating a report of annoying and harassing phone calls received by a South Street resident.

•  On Aug. 26 served court paperwork to a person on Lawrence Lane.

•  On Aug. 27 began investigating a social media complaint lodged by a Main Street resident.

•  On Aug. 27 checked the welfare of a person on West Pleasant Street and provided them a ride home.

•  On Aug. 29 spoke to a Pine Street resident in reference to an animal concern and determined that no action described rose to the level of an offense.
