Simmons wins horseshoe meet

BRISTOL — Forty horseshoe pitchers from four states came to the Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Clubs near the recreation fields in Bristol to compete in the PresState Tournament his past Sunday.
Brian Simmons was tops in the tournament with a 4-0 record and 82% ringers in Class A.
The next tournament at the Sodbusters courts will be Addison County’s first ever hosting of the New England Champions Tournament. That competition will be on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6.
In Sunday’s competition, the winners and others placing (including won-loss record and ringer percentage), were:
